Henk Both, Ph.D.

Henk Both is a Principal based in Atlanta, GA. 

Henk manages Anzu’s energy transition portfolio and serves in governance roles for the firm’s positions in XGS, e-Zinc, Xendee, and Opscura, among others.  Since joining Anzu in 2021, he has helped invest about $50 million and helped secure about $130 million of follow-on financing for portfolio companies.  

In addition, Henk launched Anzu’s Atlanta office and manages the firm’s sourcing and investment pipeline process, which annually reviews approximately 1,000 companies in industrial technology, energy transition, and life sciences.  He leads and supports on investment topic areas such as energy generation, energy storage, energy transmission and distribution, critical materials, resource management, alternative fuels, and materials processing and characterization. 

Prior to Anzu, Henk was a management consultant in the energy practice at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).  At BCG, he supported Fortune 500 clients in energy infrastructure, industrial goods, and natural resources management.  

Henk holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Stanford University, where his research focused on the photophysics of fluorescent molecular probes. He also earned his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Alabama.
