Dr. Ariane Tom is an Associate at Anzu Partners, San Diego, focusing on life science investments. Areas of interest include biomolecule characterization, pharma R&D and manufacturing, disease diagnosis and monitoring, synthetic biology, and advanced biomaterials. She is a Board Observer at InterVenn Biosciences.
Prior to Anzu, Ariane was a Patent Engineer at Schox Patent Group, where she developed IP portfolios for early stage companies in the life science, medical device, and hardware spaces. She was also the Founder of Kaleida Capital, an investment consulting firm serving several biotechnology-focused venture funds and startups in Silicon Valley, CA.
Ariane’s deep laboratory research experience spans single cell genomics and sequencing, biomaterials, organic electronics, and neuroscience disciplines. She holds a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, an M.S. in Bioengineering, and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Stanford University, where she implemented a unique combination of genetic and bioelectronic tools to enhance the performance of neural interfaces in the laboratories of Professor Karl Deisseroth and Professor Zhenan Bao.
